Simulators likely to make inroads in production, education
Williams Dental Laboratories manufactures about 10 partial frameworks and crown and bridge substructures per day. The Erie, PA, laboratory used to require the labor of four dental technicians to accomplish this production. Recently, it has only been using three. This wasn't the result of a recession-driven decision to cut staff members or outsource services. Instead, the culprit is a few small pieces of machinery that could occupy a large desktop. The product, known as the SensAble Dental Lab System, was created by SensAble Technologies of Woburn, MA.
