In the News: Register now for the December 2008 Achieving Accreditation educational program!
The program, held on December 5-6, 2008, at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, is a great resource for those applying for accreditation for the first time, as well as those preparing for re-accreditation. The day and a half long seminar provides tips and tools from experienced surveyors to help guide your organization from application through decision.
 
Ask The Expert: Does AAAHC address the Universal Protocol in the Handbook?
One of our goals is to protect patients, employees and physicians from potential infections and hazardous materials. A comprehensive infection control policy needs to be in place to identify potential infection sources, how to protect and prevent spread of these infections, and how to treat an infection when it does occur. 
 
Quick Tip: AAAHC Recognized Primary and Secondary Source Verification

Organizations struggling with Standard 2.II (specifically approved primary and secondary source verification agencies) are urged to review Appendix L of the AAAHC Handbook for Ambulatory Health Care. 

 
IQI Corner: AAAHC Institute Clinical Myringotomy and Liposuction Studies Are Open for Registration
The AAAHC Institute for Quality Improvement is accepting registrations for its 2008 clinical Asthma Management in College Health, Myringotomy, and Liposuction studies, as well as the 2008 Non-Clinical Ambulatory Surgery and Endoscopy Study.
